Draw neat diagrams of voluntary, involuntary and cardiac muscles.
Muscular tissue:
I. Voluntary muscles: Voluntary muscles are under our control. Their cells have many nuclei and also have striations. So they are also called striated muscles. The muscles of the arms and legs are striated.
II. Involuntary muscles: The muscles that are not in our control are called involuntary muscles. Their cells have tapering ends and have only one nucleus. They do not have striations and hence they are called unstriated muscles. They are mainly seen in internal organs like the stomach, intestines, lungs, and urinary bladder.
III. Cardiac muscles: Cardiac muscles are a special type of involuntary muscle. They are also called heart muscles as they are found only in the heart. These are striated muscles. They are cylindrical and branched.
