  • The atomic number is the number of protons in an atom, hence the number of protons= 19.
  • In an electrically neutral atom, the number of electrons and protons will be the same. Hence the number of electrons= 19.
  • Superscript denotes the mass number. The mass number is the sum of a number of protons and neutrons.
  • Hence, number of neutrons=mass number-number of protons= (39-19)= 20.
