Draw the graph of the equation 3x + 2y = 12. At what points does the graph cut the x-axis and the y-axis?

Given equation: 3x + 2y = 12
or, y = 12 - 3x2

When x = 0, then y = 122 = 6.

When x = 2, then y = 12 - 62 = 62 = 3.

When x = 4, then y = 12 - 122 = 0.
Thus, we have the following table:
x 0 2 4
y 6 3 0

Plot the points A(0, 6), B(4, 0) and C(2, 3) on the graph paper.
Join the points and extend them in both the direction.
We see the graph cuts the x-axis at (4, 0) and the y-axis at (0, 6).
