Solution
In uremia blood urea level rises abnormally. It is seen in patients whose nephrons do not function properly and their metabolic wastes start accumulating in the blood. In such conditions, artificial measures are adopted for removing accumulated nitrogenous products like urea from the blood. This process is known as hemodialysis and the apparatus used is called artificial kidney or haemodialyzer.
