Drugs and alcohol are used for getting a feeling of intoxication. People often feel on a high after taking a drug or alcohol. But these substances have serious long term repercussions. For example; long term alcohol abuse can result in liver cirrhosis which is a life-threatening condition. Drugs make a person physical and psychologically weak. A drug addict becomes a burden on the society. Hence, it can be said that drugs and alcohol give short-term ‘high’ and long term 'damages'.
