Let initial price of a laptop was $X R s$ and number of laptop deals was $Y$ .

So, Initial total expenditure $= X \times Y = X Y R s$

Now, price increased by $10 %$ .

So, New price $= X + 10 % o f X = 1.1 X$

Number of laptop deals decreased by $10 %$

$∴ N u m b e r o f l a p t o p d e a l s = Y - 10 % o f Y = 0.9 Y$

New total expenditure $= 1.1 X \times 0.9 Y = 0.99 X Y R s$
