It is observed that,
1.Reddish-brown copper metal is deposited at the cathode by accepting two electrons
At cathode: Cu2+2e−→Cu(s)
2.Bubbles of oxygen gas evolves at an anode.
At anode: 4OH−→2H2O+O2+4e−
