During the practical in the lab when hydrogen sulphide gas having offensive odour is prepared for some test, we can smell hte gas even 50 metres away. Explain hte phenomenon.

The phenomenon is called diffusion of gas, gas molecules can move freely due to high kinetic energy and they tend to diffuse form high concentration area to low concentration area very quickly.
Hence presence of a gas can be felt from a distance.
