Let us find the total number of bottles.
Bottles in a cabin =45
Number of cabins =6
Total number of water bottles =Bottles in cabin×Number of cabins
=45×6
45×6 means 6 lots of 45. We know that 45=40+5.
Hence, 6 lots of 45 means 6 lots of 40 and 6 lots of 5.

Let us represent this using rods and blocks.
