Solution

Formation of four unidentical daughter cells from a parent cells is called Meiosis. It occurs in three steps, namely meiosis-I, meiosis – II, cytokinesis. In meiosis – I, chromosomes number is reduced to half, so it is called heterotypic division and in meiosis – II, equal number of chromosomes appear in daughter cells. So it is a homeotypic division. So, metaphasic plate in meiosis-I or heterotypic division contains half the number of diploid set of chromosomes.
