Each of the faces of the cube is 100 sq. cm. If the cube Is cut of parallel to its base and divided into two equal parts. Find the total surface area of each part separately.

Given:
The area of each face of cube =100cm2
core of the cube =100=10cm
When a cube is cut of parallel to its base and divided into two equal parts, then two cuboids are formed.
In which the length of each cube (I) =10cm
Breadth (b) =5cm
Height (h)=10cm
And the surface area of each cuboid formed
=2(lb+bh+hl)
=2[(10×5)+(5×10)+(10×10)]
=2[50+50+100]
=2×200=400cm2
Hence, the surface area of each cuboid formed =400cm2
