Solution

The correct option is A 117 and 417
Total number of papers with letters in the bowl= 17
Number of papers with letter A= 1

Need to find: Probability of picking a paper with first letter of the name Alex, i.e., P (A)

P(A)=Number of papers with letter A in the bowlTotal number of papers in the bowl

P(A)=117–––––––––––

As Alex replaces the paper with letter A' in the bowl, the total number of papers still remains the same, which is 17.

Number of papers with letter S'= 4

P(S)=Number of papers with letter S in the bowlTotal number of papers in the bowl

P(S)=417––––––––––
