As we know, Equivalent mass is the mass of element which reacts with 8 g of oxygen.
Here,
16 g sulphur reacts with 8 g oxygen

Let A beSxOy
B be SpOq
In A, 16yg oxygen(32x+16y)g SxOy
hence, 8g oxygen 32x+16y2y=16(given)
32xy+8=16
xy=12=number of S atomnumber of O atom
Thus, A is SO2
In B, 16qg oxygen(32p+16q)g SpOq
8g oxygen32p+16q2q=13.33 (given)
16pq=5.33
pq=5.3316=16=number of S atomnumber of O atom
Thus, B is SO3
