Dear student,. The minimum velocity required by a body such that when it is projected with this velocity, it will escape the gravitational attraction of a planet. In simple words, the object will never come back. For our earth, escape velocity is 11.2km/s. It means if we throw a ball with this much velocity, it will go into the space and will never come back .
