Ethylene oxide is prepared from ethylene by the following balanced reaction:
2C2H4+O22C2H4O
Moles of C2H4=4.228=0.15 mol
2 moles of C2H4 produces 2 moles of C2H4O
So, 0.15 moles produces = 0.15 moles of C2H4O
Mass of C2H4O obtained=moles×molar mass of C2H4O=0.15×44=6.6 g

% yield=Actual yieldTheoretical yield×100
