Every action has an equal and opposite reaction , then why don't the action and reaction forces cancel each other? Please give some examples too.

Because action and reaction forces are applied on different bodies.

Explanation:

For example: If you push your friend, then your friend experiences action force, while the jerk you feel when you pushed her is the reaction which you experience. So, action-reaction don't cancel each other out.
