According to the ABO blood group system, there are total 4 types of blood group as A, B, AB and O. The presence of antigen on the surface of the red blood cell decides the type of blood group.
The antigen A and antibody b is present in the blood group A.
The antigen B and antibody a is present in the blood group B.
The antigen A, B and no antibody is present in the blood group AB.
No antigen and antibody a, b is present in the blood group O.
There are total eight type of blood groups if these blood groups are considered with the presence and absence of Rh factor.
