(i) Capillary water is the water present in the spaces between the soil particles as a thin film. It is readily available to plants. It is held in the soil against the forces of gravity.
(ii) Osmosis is the process in which water molecules move through a semipermeable membrane from their higher concentration to their lower concentration.
(iii) In aeroponics, roots of a plant are suspended into a plastic vessel and sprayed with oxygenated nutrient rich water. This technique allows the roots to absorb nutrients much faster causing rapid growth and more yield.
