Translatory motion: when a object body as a whole moves, all parts of the body cover the same distance in the same interval of time.

Rotational motion: moving of a n object in its own axis.

Oscillatory motion: moving of an object to and fro about its position of rest.

Linear or rectilinear motion: when an object moves in a straight line.

Curvilinear motion: when an object moves on a curved path.

Periodic motion: a motion which repeats itself at regular intervals of time.
