Progesterone is the hormone secreted by the ovaries which regulate the condition of the inner lining endometrium of the uterus. It plays a major role in the development of the foetus.

Oxytocin is the hormone that stimulates the contraction of the uterus during childbirth. It also increases the level of prostaglandins to help contract further.
