Open in App
Solution

Oxytocin hormone is involved in the process of parturition. Parturition is the process of giving birth to a baby as the development of the foetus gets completed in the mother’s womb. Oxytocin leads to the contraction of smooth muscles of myometrium of the uterus, which directs the full term foetus towards the birth canal.

FSH- Follicle stimulating hormone
functions :-
in males: spermatogenesis
in females: growth of graafian follicle and estrogen secretion.

Progesterone:
1. Prepares endometrium to receive and nourish an implanted fertilized egg
2. Progesterone maintains the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy.
3. If pregnancy does not occur, progesterone levels will drop, thus causing menstruation.
