Question

Explain how soil gets affected by the continuous plantation of crops in a field.

Open in App
Solution

If continuous plantation of crops is done in the fields then the soil will become poor in necessary nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, etc. Plants require nutrients for their proper growth and functioning. This will reduce the yeild of the soil.
This is the reason why leguminous plants that fix nitrogen in the soil are planted(to bring back the list nitrogen to the soil)
