Explain selective reception and credibility of source as a barrier to effective communication?

Selective reception- When people retain only those words or information that they want to hear, it results in poor communication.

Credibility of source- Sometimes the receiver thinks that the sender of information is not credible (i.e. knowledgeable). In such type of cases, receiver does not pay attention to information from such sources.
