Lindman estimated energy at each level. He after calculating, how much energy entered in each trophic level and from it how much energy is transferred to next trophic level, found out the energy utilized by each trophic level Lindman has formulated a 10% law. Thus, only a small quantity of stored energy of a trophic level reaches to the next trophic level such as 90% of total energy produced by producers is utilized by the producers themselves in their metabolic activities and remaining 10% of energy reaches to the next trophic level i.e., to primary producer. This is called law of 10% Lindman.
