The solid part of the earth’s surface is called land.
Land can be classified on the basis of ownership as – private land and community land.
Private land is owned by individuals, for example, plots and private farming lands whereas, community land is owned by the community for common uses of locals like the collection of fodder, fruits, nuts, or medicinal herbs. These community lands are also called common property resources. Examples of community land include public gardens and community forests.
