Triglyceride is a glyceride, which is formed from a single molecule of glycerol, esterified with three fatty acids. It is mainly present in vegetable oils and animal fat.

The general chemical formula of triglyceride is

$R_{2} C O O - C H_{2} C H (- O O C R_{1}) C H_{2} - O O C R_{3}$

Where $R_{1}, R_{2}, a n d R_{3}$ are fatty acids. These three fatty acids can be the same or different.
