The contribution of the swadesi movement was that it gave an impetus to the struggle for freedom.People from all walks of life joined in and became actively involved in politics .This movement saw the emergence of al the major political trends of the national movement .Even the moderate leaders toured the country urging the boycott of Manchester cloth and Liverpool salt.It lowered the sale of British goods,showed a way to the country of using it's own products as a means of self reliance.
