Explain the different types of cancers.

The five major types of cancer is discussed below:

  • Carcinoma: Cancers derived from epithelial cells. It spreads in areas like breast, prostate, lung, pancreas and colon.
  • Sarcoma: Cancers which mainly affects connective tissue.
  • Lymphoma and leukemia: It originates in the hematopoietic (blood-forming) cells that leave the marrow and tend to mature in the lymph nodes and blood, respectively.
  • Germ cell tumor: Cancers which affects the germ cells of ovary and testis.
  • Blastoma: Cancers mainly affects embryonic tissue.
