The flame of a burning candle is divided into three different zones.
i. Outermost zone - In this zone we find complete combustion of wax vapours taking place. The colour of the flame is blue and it is the hottest region of the flame.
ii. Middle zone - It is moderately hot and the flame in this part is yellow in colour. Partial combustion takes place in the middle zone of the flame.
iii. Innermost zone - It contains unburnt wax vapours and is black in colour. This is the least hot part of the flame.
