Human health: It is defined as the physical, social, and mental well-being of an individual.

Several factors control human health and these may be internal (under the individual's control) or external (independent of the individual).

External factors: These are the factors and parameters that are independent of the individual's control and cannot be modulated by the single-handed efforts of a particular individual.

  1. Environmental conditions: The condition of the environment is dependent on several factors that give rise to water, air, and soil pollution and lead to a degradation in the quality of all these natural resources. A change in air quality may cause asthma and bronchitis, contaminated water may give rise to cholera and typhoid, while polluted soil may cause tetanus.
  2. Unavailability of health care resources: The lack of health care centers also affects the maintenance of human health. Even though individuals are aware of the treatment they require, there are no healthcare facilities available that worsen diseases and further debilitate human health.
