Explain the factors which r essential for the process of evolution with the help of an example

Dear Student ,

The parts of human population migrated from their ancestral origin to different places all over the world with different climatic conditions. To survive, they adapted various characteristics to adjust with the changing situations like changing climates, food habits, landforms and topography. These adaptations which were different from their ancestors gradually results in evolution. Evolution is the change in inherited characters of a biological population over a period of time. Due to evolution the inherited or genetic characters are forced to change. Genetically there may be some steps of evolution.

(1) DNA of an organism may occasionally change that is known as mutation.
(2)The change occurred by mutation may be either beneficial or harmful
(3)These mutated characters may be inherited.
(4)If the mutation spread over a long period of time, it may give rise to a new species.
(5)The new species with some different and developed characters results in evolution.
