The process of sowing seeds manually called broadcasting or manual sowing. Broadcasting is a method of sowing by scattering seeds all over the prepared soil surface. Crop seeds like wheat, paddy, methi, coriander etc. are sawn in this method. Although it is the most cheapest and fastest way of sawing, broadcasting is not a very advantageous way because of following reasons:
Seed requirement is more as seed gets scattered.
Crop stands are not uniform.
Results in defective germination where moisture is not adequate
Spacing is not maintained within rows and columns hence difficult to reach.
