Question

Explain the method of concentration used when the density of ore particles is much more than the density of the gangue particles.

Open in App
Solution

Washing is used to concentrate an ore when the ore particles are more denser than the gangue.
In this method, the ore particles are crushed and kept on a slopy surface which are then washed with controlled flow of water. Impurities that are lower in density are carried away by the water flow, leaving the more densive ore particles behind.
