Question

Explain the process of external respiration.

Open in App
Solution

External respiration is referred to as oxygen diffuses into the blood while carbon dioxide diffuses into the alveolar air. Here the concentration of hydrogen ion and the temperature is reduced and partial pressure of oxygen is high it helps the oxygen to diffuse from the three layers of alveoli to blood and carbon dioxide concentration is greater on blood capillaries side while less at alveoli so it diffused inside and release outside through expiration.
