The government has laid down rules, methods and policies to protect and conserve biodiversity. Wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, biosphere reserves, etc., are areas meant for conservation of plants and animals present in that area. Plantation, cultivation, grazing, cutting trees, hunting and poaching are prohibited in these areas by government laws.
