A light microscope utilizes light - natural or artificial for observing a specimen. The light is focussed on to the specimen using a mirror that reflects sunlight or light from any other source. The specimen is observed through a pair of biconvex lens, named the eye piece lens and the objective lens, together providing nX magnification of the object or the specimen.
