A cataract is an eye disorder that builds a hazy spot in the eye's lens that causes vision loss.
Cataracts usually grow gradually and might impair one or both eyes. When proteins in the eye clump together, the lens is unable to transmit clear images to the retina, resulting in a cataract.
Symptoms include fading colors, hazy or double vision, halos surrounding lights, difficulty seeing in strong light, and difficulty seeing at night.
Wearing sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, eating green vegetables and fruits, and, most importantly, not smoking are all ways to avoid this. Glasses may help with the early symptoms.
If this does not help, the only viable therapy is surgery to remove the clouded lens and replace it with an artificial lens.
