Explain why :

Plants begin to die when excess of soluble fertilisers are added to the soil.

When excess of soluble fertilisers are added to soil, then soil solution becomes hypertonic in nature as compare to cell sap, hence plant cell suffer water loss due to exosmosis. Due to exosmosis plant cell get shrink and begin to die.
