$x^{2} + 5 x + 6$
= $x^{2} + (3 + 2) x + 3 \times 2$
We know appropriate identities $x^{2} + (a + b) x + a b = (x + a) (x + b)$
Here a=3 and b=2
$∴ x^{2} + (3 + 2) x + 3 \times 2$
= $(x + 3) (x + 2)$
