ADA deficiency or adenosine deaminase deficiency is a genetic disorder.
Gene therapy is the transfer of the normal gene into body cells to correct a genetic defect. It can be used to treat genetic diseases like severe combined immunodeficiency. SCID is caused by a defect in the gene for the enzyme adenosine deaminase (ADA).
