Solution

The correct option is A have had
The present perfect tense refers to an action or state that either occurred at an indefinite time in the past (e.g., we have talked before) or began in the past and continued to the present time (e.g., he has grown impatient over the last hour). This tense is formed by have/has + the past participle. The above sentence requires the use of present perfect tense to describe the event from the past that has some connection to the present. We use the present perfect tense when we want to connect the present with the (recent) past in some way and this will appear as has had or have had. Using 'have had' we have connected the present so it is possible that we might not have anything to eat even now. It is not a completed event. Hence Option B is correct. Option D is ruled out as 'are having' is present continuous tense which is used in case of incidents happening now or at this time. Option A can be ruled out as the verb shows that the action is finished, complete or perfect at the time of speaking. Option C can also be ruled out as the verb shows that the action is incomplete or continuous.
