Solution
Nitrogen from the atmosphere is fixed by microorganisms and lightning. The usable forms of nitrogen are used by plants.
Plants are eaten by animals. When plants and animals die, the decomposers decompose the dead matter and release simple nutrients like nitrogenous nutrients back into the soil.
Certain microbes again convert the nitrogenous nutrients present in the soil to atmospheric nitrogen. This cycle goes on and on.
As a result of nitrogen cycle in nature, the pertentage of nitrogen gas in the atmosphere (or air) remains constant.
