Smoking is very harmful to health as it damages the lung tissues.
The breathing becomes very difficult and the person may suffer from a persistent cough.
It can even lead to lung cancer and other diseases.
It damages the airways and increases the risk of various respiratory diseases.
Active and passive smoking:
Active smoking is a process where the smoker (the person who inhales the smoke from burnt tobacco) inhales the smoke which penetrates into the lungs where the substances are absorbed into the bloodstream. It may lead to heart related disorders
Passive smoking means breathing in smoke produced from other people's tobacco. It is more harmful than active smoking as passive smokers inhale the smoke from the lit cigarette between two puffs and the smoke released by the active smokers.
