The correct option is B 30 cm, from the pole


The object distance from the plane mirror is 10 cm, so the image will form 10 cm behind the mirror. Now that image will be considered as the object for the concave mirror.
So the distance of object from the concave mirror will now become, u=40+20=60 cm
Given,
focal length, f=20 cm

Sign conventions for concave mirror are:
u = -ve ( Left side of the mirror)
f = -ve
Using the mirror formula:
1v+1u=1f
1v+160=120

1v=1360

v=30 cm

i.e. 30 cm from the pole (left side of the mirror)
