Question

Find the adjoint matrix and inverse matrix of the matrix
[cosαsinαsinαcosα]

Open in App
Solution

Let A=[cosαsinαsinαcosα]

Now, determinant of matrix A will be,

|A|=cosαsinαsinαcosα=cos2α+sin2α=1

Since, |A|0, inverse of A exists.

Now, adj A=[cosαsinαsinαcosα]

Therefore, A1=1|A|adj A

A1=1×[cosαsinαsinαcosα]=[cosαsinαsinαcosα]

Hence, A1=[cosαsinαsinαcosα]
