Find the H.C.F of two consecutive numbers.

Let us take two consecutive numbers 5 and 6.

Finding the H.C.F of 5 and 6 by Prime Factorisation we get,

5=1×56=1×2×3

Therefore we see that H.C.F of 5 and 6 is 1

Hence, we can conclude that for any two consecutive integers, the H.C.F is always equal to 1since they have no other common factors.
