putting the values of perimeter and Breadth in (1)

$24=\times (y+4)$

$\Rightarrow 24=2y+8$

$\Rightarrow 2y=24-8$

$\Rightarrow 2y=16$

$\Rightarrow y=16/2$

$\Rightarrow y=8.$

Therefore, the length of side rectangle is 8 cm.
