Let length and breadth are x and y respectively.

x - y = 2 .... (i)

2(x + y) = 24
x + y = 12 .... (ii)

Add equations (i) and (ii)
2x = 14
x = 7
Put the value of x in equation (i)
y = 5

So, length and breadth are 7 cm and 5 cm respectively.
