(ii) MnO2 + 4H+ + 2eMn2+ + 2H2O ....Go2

substracting equation (ii) from (i) give the required equation, i.e.,
MnO4 + 4H+ + 3eMnO2 + 2H2O ....Go3

Eo3=(5×1.51)V(2×1.23)V3
Eo3=1.7 V
