Here we have ,

$12,6$ and $x$ are in continued proportion

Then, $12:6::6:x$

And, we know that if $a,b,c$ are in continued proportion i.e- $a:b::b:c$

Then, $a\times c=b\times b$

Now, Here We have $12:6::6:x$

Then, $$\begin{gathered} 12\times x=6\times 6 \\ 12x=36 \\ x=\frac{36}{12} \\ x=3 \end{gathered}$$

Hence for the value of $x=3$
